How far apart should solar clamps be placed ?
There are several factors to be considered such as the panel size, roof beam spacing wind/snow conditions, etc. Generally, more clamps offer a better strength for the structure. Our engineer will give the most cost-effective solution according to the actual sitiation of your roof.

How high should solar panels be off the roof?
Higher off the roof will tend to have better airflow and keep the panels cooler. As long as you don't mind the look, and the wind loads are accounted for in the rack design, higher is fine.
