Product Description
RF02 Klip-Lok Solar Clamp | Specialized Top-Fix for Concealed Rib Roofs
The RF02 Klip-Lok Solar Clamp is a precision-engineered solution for ‘Klip-Lok’ and similar concealed-fix roofing profiles (e.g., Lysaght Klip-Lok 406/700). These roof types feature wide, flat-topped ribs with no visible seams to clamp onto, making standard side-screw clamps ineffective.
The RF02 utilizes a Two-Part Sandwich Design. It does not rely on setscrews digging into the side of the rib. Instead, the two halves of the clamp hook under the ‘shoulders’ of the Klip-Lok rib. As the top bolts are tightened, the clamp halves are drawn together, hugging the rib profile securely. This converts potential uplift forces into compression forces, ensuring the clamp holds tighter the harder the wind blows.
This non-penetrating approach is critical for Klip-Lok roofs, where penetrations can compromise the ‘floating’ nature of the long metal sheets designed for thermal expansion. The RF02 allows the solar array to move in unison with the roof, preventing stress fractures and preserving the manufacturer’s warranty.

Key Features
- Profile-Matched Design: Specifically contoured to match Klip-Lok geometry, ensuring 100% contact area.
- Non-Invasive Grip: Clamps under the rib head without piercing the sheet, maintaining waterproof integrity.
- High Uplift Resistance: Sandwich design offers superior vertical pull-out strength compared to universal clamps.
- Pre-Assembled: Comes with top bolts pre-assembled for fast slide-and-tighten installation.
- Versatile Platform: Flat top provides a stable base for L-feet, tilt legs, or direct rail attachment.

FAQ
Q01: Does this fit both Klip-Lok 406 and 700?
A01: We offer specific variations for 406 and 700 profiles. Please specify your roof rib width when ordering to ensure the correct fit.
Q02: Do I need to drill holes in the rib?
A02: Absolutely not. The RF02 is a purely non-penetrating clamp. Drilling voids the warranty of Klip-Lok roofs.
Q03: Will it crush the roof rib?
A03: No. The clamping force is applied horizontally against the rib shoulders, not vertically crushing the hollow rib.
Q04: Do I need rubber pads?
A04: We recommend EPDM rubber pads if you want to prevent minor scratching, though the anodized aluminum is safe for contact.
Q05: Can I install this on a pitched Klip-Lok roof?
A05: Yes, the clamp works effectively on pitched roofs from 1 to 60 degrees.
Q06: What torque should I use?
A06: Tighten the top bolts to 18-20 Nm. Ensure both bolts are tightened evenly.
Q07: Is it compatible with tilt kits?
A07: Yes, the stable top platform is ideal for mounting front and rear tilt legs to elevate panels.
Q08: How long does installation take?
A08: An experienced installer can secure an RF02 clamp in under 30 seconds.
Q09: What material is the hardware?
A09: All bolts and washers are SUS 304 stainless steel.
Q10: Can I use this for rail-less systems?
A10: While possible with adapters, RF02 is primarily designed as a robust base for rail-based L-feet.
Q11: Is the clamp anodized?
A11: Yes, it features a silver anodized finish (≥10µm) for maximum corrosion protection.
Q12: Does it work on KingKlip or Speed Deck?
A12: It is compatible with many similar ‘concealed fix’ profiles. Please check rib dimensions against our drawing.
Q13: What is the max wind speed?
A13: Designed and tested for high-wind zones up to 60 m/s.
Q14: Does it interfere with roof thermal expansion?
A14: No, the clamp moves in unison with the roof sheet, preventing stress buildup.
Q15: Can I walk on the clamp?
A15: While structurally strong, we do not recommend using clamps as steps for safety reasons.
